1. Who can rent
You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid licence for the category of scooter you are renting. For our 125cc scooters this means an A1 or a B licence; for larger engines an A2 licence is required.
EU licences and international driving permits are accepted. We check the licence at pick-up and we cannot hand over the scooter without it, in which case the deposit is not refunded.
2. Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed once the deposit is paid online. The deposit is 30% of the rental fee and it is not refundable.
The balance, together with any extras chosen, is paid at pick-up in cash or by card. Prices shown at checkout include taxes.
3. Rental days
A rental day is a full 24 hours counted from the pick-up time. If the scooter is returned more than the agreed grace period after that, an additional day is charged.
The extra day is shown to you during booking whenever your chosen return time crosses into it, so there are no surprises at the counter.
4. Delivery and return
Delivery and return take place at the port of Kamares or at our shop, whichever you choose when booking. There is no charge for either.
We meet you in person at the agreed time. If your plans change, contact us as early as you can so we can rearrange.
5. Insurance and damage
Third-party liability insurance, required by Greek law, is included in every rental. Additional damage cover is available at three levels and is chosen during booking or at the shop.
Without additional cover, the rider is responsible for the full cost of damage to or theft of the scooter. With cover, responsibility is limited to the excess of the chosen level. Tyres, the underside of the vehicle and helmets are typically excluded, as is any damage caused off-road or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Theft resulting from negligence — for example leaving the key on the scooter or the scooter unlocked — is always the renter's responsibility, regardless of cover.
6. Use of the scooter
The scooter may only be ridden by the person named on the booking, plus any extra driver declared and approved by us. Helmets must be worn by the rider and the passenger.
Riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The scooter is delivered with a full tank and must be returned full; otherwise the fuel difference is charged (around 8€). It must be returned in the condition it was handed over. It may not be used off-road, for racing, for carrying goods for hire, or to tow anything. Traffic fines incurred during the rental are the renter's responsibility.
7. Breakdowns and accidents
Call us first. We will arrange assistance or a replacement scooter as quickly as the island allows.
In case of an accident, call the police so that a report is filed. Insurance claims cannot be processed without one.
8. Cancellations
The deposit is not refunded if you cancel or do not show up. The balance is simply not charged.
If we cannot provide a scooter for reasons on our side, you get the full deposit back or an equivalent scooter of the same or higher category.
